Blogging & Birthing

We do in fact have wireless internet access here at the hospital. So we've Skyped some family and have surfed a bit.

I always try to get to websites that I can't get to at home to see if they work. I was surprised that I could get to some blogs directly without our "tricks" to get to them. So I pushed my luck to get to some good ol' Air Force sites on the .mil domain. I got to them, but two minutes later my internet connection crashed and I had to reboot. Looks like I won't be going back to those sites. Thanks Great Firewall of China!

Enough about the internet, back to the baby story...

The baby's heartbeat is 150 bpm right now.
Does that mean it's a boy or a girl?
Morgan wins the "trooper of the year" award, having a baby in China is quite the adventure. Check out this document that we had to sign, that we "don't want keep the placenta by ourselves."

Our Ayi actually told us a couple of days ago that her dad's dad ate eight placentas. They supposedly have great health benefits. They can be stewed or dried and eaten like jerky. Mmmm...

hahahaha!! That is HILARIOUS and disgusting. I've heard of women eating the placenta for bleeding issues since it's supposed to help stop that (or something). I've also heard of women keeping it in their freezer or planting it out in their garden. But I have never heard of the father eating the placenta. I think out of all of the options, I like that idea the most. haha! Well, not really. I'm not sure I'd want to kiss Tyler if he ate one of our placentas...

Can't wait to hear how things go. Hope the birth is quick and smooth and that no one accidentally feeds Tim the placenta without him knowing.

I love you all and hope baby "San" sleeps well for all of you. I know he will sleep well for Tim. I least I hope so.
