Home Sweet Home

We found out recently where we will be moving to this summer. Unfortunately our most amazing two-year adventure is coming to an end -- we are now down to 60 days or so. If anybody knows of a better job than this has been, please let me know what it is! :-)

At any rate, we will be moving "home" in August to the DC area. In many ways it is "home" for me... I attended school in Northern Virginia for 8 of my 12 years of school, and then while at college I flew "home" to Virginia.

While I was at the Air Force Academy, every time I flew home I cranked up Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home" on my way-too-big-for-a-dorm-room stereo system and sang along while air drumming along with Motley Crue's drummer Tommy Lee.

It's perhaps only appropriate that I write about this today, as today marks my 12th anniversary of graduating from the Academy.

Since we're going back "home" to Virginia, I've included the song for your pleasure! So turn up your speakers... and drum along as well!

Virginia is also where we lived for the year prior coming to China. We loved the area and (while not wanting to leave China) are looking forward to the move.

So yes, back to where we're going... we're moving to the DC area where I'll be working in what used to be the world's largest office building... the building has "five sides" and has 23,000 employees, and thus needs a lot of janitors... I'm just glad I could get a job with my deteriorating sweeping skills! :-)

... life moves on, the song was removed to not be too obnoxious

I have enjoyed reading about your China adventures. Hopefully our families can get together sometime in the states. We'll be in Alabama for the next year. The Sheffields will be there, too. I hope all goes well with your move!

There is no place like home. Kiss the soil and smell the dollar bill. No money smells like the american buck, even though it has had its problems this year. The American Flag is the symbol of Freedom.
