Zhujiajiao - water town

We took Bryan and Chelsie to Zhujiajiao, which is one of the four famous water towns in China (along with Wuzhen, Tongli, and Zhouzhuang), all located a short-ways outside of Shanghai.

Who needs roads when you connect everything with canals to the big river.

Zhujiajiao is filled with small shops and restaurants along with picturesque buildings dating back to the Ming and Qing Dyanasties (so sometime between 1368-1911).
Shopping...
After walking and shopping it was time for our boat ride...
Chelsie and Bryan each got up to "help" row the boat.
We sat back and enjoyed the ride...
Back on land for a couple more pictures...
These people paid money to come to Zhujiajiao to see a water town... why do they gather around the red-headed foreign boy?!
Waiting for the bus to go back to Shanghai... this lady played with Ryann until we left. Definitely a fun day trip.
