We are going to die.....

First, let me introduce myself, my name is Morgan (the M in TMATR) and had let the T take over blogging. This wasn't on purpose, I just got out of the habit and haven't bothered to get back into it. He does a much better job anyways. Well, I have been saving all these things in my head and I need to get them out before I forget.

Today at Adayla's new friend's house, Michelle. She was born in the US, but her parents are Chinese and her dad just took a job over here for a few years a few months ago. Her mom doesn't want her forgetting her English and so she invited us (MATR) over to play this morning.

This is one of our first conversations:

Michelle's Mom - "Adayla when was the last time you went back to the US?"

Adayla'a Mom - "Yeah, I don't think she remember that, it was when we left to come over here."

MM - "Adayla, well are you getting excited to go back to America?"

Adayla very matter of factly - "Well, when we go back to America we are all going to die."

Adayla's mom gives her a VERY strange look, then realized that those words had come directly from my mouth......

As we are on our stretch to come home (it is still awhile away), but we are realizing that this good life we have here is going to go away and it is going to take some adjusting. When talking to others I will say something like, "We are going to die when we go back to America, no helper lady, Tim will be working long hours, maybe even deployed....we just have had such a great experience here in China."

So I will need to put Adayla's fears to rest and have a little chat with her....and also watch what I say around her, now that she will repeat it!

The girls are doing great. Tally is talking talking...finally! She has a pretty good mix of both languages. She is a dribbler, yes she frequently starts to pee in her panties just enough to wet them before she takes the time to go pee pee in the potty. Needless to say, we spend many a days talking about don't pee pee in your panties.

So each time Tim has left us the last few months, we teach her where daddy is at the time. She knew Beijing and she knew Xiang Gang (Hong Kong) and so this trip we taught her Japan. Somehow over the course of the week it has turned into this.

"Tally where is daddy?"

"He is in Japanties!"

Ryann is on the verge of crawling, she definitely moves around, and has even moved her legs and arms a few times. But when that kid isn't sleeping (which is still quite a bit) or eating, she is being spoiled and being held. So my goal these next few weeks is to give her some alone time on the ground and see if she can figure it out. We'll see!

Check back soon, for more updates from the M.

I loved reading about your blogging. You have the not so China stories but the mommy stories. Japanties and the die is the best. Adayla is going tohave a b'day soon. Don't tell her yet, that she will be four.
