Last Saturday was perfect weather, just barely enough wind to fly a kite, so we were able to get it up in the air a few times.
Maybe if we would have worn our kite flying clothes, bought the professional string holder and not taken the kids with us, we would have been able to get it up much better (see picture below....)
Seriously, we did have lots of fun and the girls enjoyed being outside just running around.
Since many of the adults didn't enjoy these things as children, they like to get and do it now. We'll see businessmen in their suits on lunch breaks out flying kites by themselves. It still makes me giggle just a little bit, but it is a very innocent concept to watch them happily flying kites on a nice sunny day in Shanghai.
This guy tried to tell Tim we should have bought a better/bigger kite, but heck, you can see that the kite is flying just fine! Then off to Century Park for a picnic lunch.....People were selling all sorts of things on the way. Tally is passing by the moped that sells cotton candy off the back, and to the right is a man selling something for lunch from his portable stove. It was a great day for people watching!
As we were eating lunch, the couple sitting on the swing kept taking pictures of our kids. Tim took the picture of this guy taking our picture.
Adayla was blowing bubbles and had two small friends chasing after them! 20-30 Chinese gathered to watch the girls playing with the bubbles, but I missed the picture of the crowd to keep the girls from fighting over who was blowing bubbles.

It looks like you guys had a great time. It's always fun to fly a kite. I haven't flown one in years. That's funny how businessmen really get into it. I like the bubble pictures too.
I have been watching Ni Hao Kai lan (new show on Disney). I'm picking up all sorts of Chinese to use on our trip. Hahaha!
